Unpopular Opinion....It's Not Fall Yet

Okay guys, I get it. You want scarves, leggings, sweaters, cooler weather and pumpkin spice. However, let me express my unpopular opinion...

IT'S NOT FALL YET!

Believe me, fall is my favorite season but it's still freaking 90 degrees outside! How can you start to enjoy pumpkin spice anything when you sweat your butt off just to get inside Starbucks? I don't want to see fall decorations until September 22nd, you know the first official day of fall, and even then it's pushing it because we live in North Carolina so Mother Nature is still enjoying her hot flashes even then.

I know this is another unpopular opinion, so let me hit you with it...

PUMPKIN SPICE IS DISCUSTING!

I don't get it! Yes, I know some of you don't need that kind of negativity in your life. However, I seriously don't understand why you need to ruin a perfectly good cup of coffee by putting that crap in it. Seriously, what is it? I don't even know what is in it? If I'm being completely honest, I don't understand why everything for the next 3 months HAS to be pumpkin spice. Who the heck needs a pumpkin spice air freshener? Pumpkin spice needs to stay in its lane. Let it ruin coffee for those who love it but stay out of my clean air and wherever else it decides to pop up.

I'm not anti fall. Like I said, fall is my favorite. What's not to love about falling temperatures and changing leaves. Fall is about transition and its beautiful. Apple farms and pumpkin patches are awesome and I love me a great cup of hot apple cider. However, let me repeat, it's not fall yet and we'll be lucky if we see a high temperature lower than 80 degrees for 3 or 4 more weeks.

Let's not rush out summer just yet. I mean if we're being honest, most of our summers have sucked because of Covid-19 and it's restrictions. I'm actually not looking forward to fall because as the temperature gets cooler, I think the restrictions will come back with a vengeance. Use these last few weeks of hot weather to make lasting memories because God only knows what the future holds. If restrictions come down even harder in the fall, like I suspect they will, we need to make sure we've enjoyed the little bit of freedom that we have now.

I'm not going to get into the politics of the pandemic. I have my views and opinions but I tend to keep them to myself...well I at least keep them off of all socials. I honestly think things will get worse before they get better so my rand does come from a small place of fear. I want to enjoy what we have now a little longer before a new season brings even more uncertainty with it.

With that in mind, don't hate me too much for my unpopular opinions and use this week to make more lasting memories just in case our ability to come and go with minimal restriction is taken again.
